The psychology department offers courses in traditional, mixed-mode, and online course formats.
Traditional courses are those that have 3 to 4 hours of scheduled face-to-face class meeting time per week. This is the format most students are familiar with. Students are expected to attend all classes. Traditional instruction provides students with the benefit of regular face-to-face interactions with the instructor and other students.

Online courses are those in which all of the instruction, communication, and assessment are done online. Online instruction has many benefits, such as flexible scheduling and frequent feedback. Students who are self-motivated and self-disciplined tend to do best in the online learning environment. Students can take the course “from a distance” without having to come to campus.
Regardless of the format, all our courses require independent learning done outside of the classroom, such as reading assigned material and completing assignments. In addition, all students are expected to be able to access online content, such as information posted on our online learning management system Desire2Learn, and respond to emails sent to their myLangara accounts.
